White Light

I retire to bed, close my eyes,
am suffused by white light.
I realise I have read
of this phenomenon;
people see the light
on their way to the other side
and I find I have no fear.

But I awake this morning,
so clearly
this is not my time
and I must go on.
Whether I am grateful or not
it is difficult to decide.

  1. This is wonderful. Too see that light so close… It could be scary but it need not be. There probably is something beyond which is good.

That white light also is something I’ve been thinking about lately. What if… But that you are here for now and future is something I am very grateful about πŸ˜‰ So please stay for a long time!

  2. A powerful and real poem David. I hope you are ok. I am certainly grateful you are still here for lots of reasons, but I will mention only one and that is I want you to experience all the wonders that living by the sea will give you. ❀️

    Love you loads

    at least I hope so.

  6. Very thought provoking David! We are all wondering if you are okay now? πŸ˜‰ I’ve never experienced that phenomenon or know anyone who has. But maybe it’s because the ones who have are not here to tell me! I’m very relieved it wasn’t your time – I like reading your poetry! πŸ™‚

sometimes one wakes in the light, and learns that even on the other side we have free will to choose to come back even when aren’t suppose too πŸ™‚
then you have no ideal how to to begin again, for you don’t fit anymore in the life you had….
I like your poem…I hope all is well within your world these days
