I have been writing poetry since 2005 and have had three books published. Details of the books are included on my Walking int0 Eternity web site – there is a link under Blogroll on this page.
This is a new venture for me. At this point I am only learning how to use it. As far as I understand it you should be able to subscribe to this blog and to get email notification when something is posted. Or, of course, you can just read it. 🙂
It will also allow me to subscribe to the blogs of friends. As and when I do that I will put links on this page of the blog. It would be nice to think we could create the sort of interactive community that existed previously.
I will also make it available on Facebook via Networked Blogs
The only way I will find out if this works is to try it and see.
So bear with me while I learn and let us see where it goes

Yes Tikarma, I feel, like you, re-energised by getting involved with this.
I tried your widget suggestion for blog subscription – trouble was when I did that it removed everything else from the sidebar, which wasn’t what I had intended. I shall persist. *Smile*

This is an experiment. the first two times i posted here i ticked the boxes below, just to see what would happen. i suspect this is why i was e-mailed a copy of all the posts made by you and others, not just your reply to me.
this time i am not going to tick the boxes. if i get no e-mails then it is sorted, if i still get copied into everything i will promptly be back seeking help and guidance!!
cheers peta
August 11, 2010 at 1:58 pm
Hi Peta,
I am trying to make some changes to fix this problem.
I don’t see yet that you are subscribed but I know it is possible because there are some others who are.
Watch this space I guess. *Smile*
David
August 11, 2010 at 2:20 pm
hi – i hadn’t ticked the boxes and i have been e-mailed both your reply to me and your reply to Tikarma.
i’m not sure if i subscribed or not, i was just asked for my name and e-mail address when i wanted to talk to you.
i think i will go away now!
August 11, 2010 at 2:25 pm
I’m having the same problem as your friend Peta. I wanted to subscribe to your posts, but my email is full of notices for all the comments and replies to all your posts. I enjoy reading your work, Irish, but…:)
If anyone knows how to fix this, please let me know. I have tried un-subscribing and re-subscribing for only emails of post alerts, but the problem persists.

August 11, 2010 at 2:34 pm
hi Shirley,
nice to meet you! if you find out, can you let me know please. i too much enjoy reading David’s work however i am using my work e-mail …
regards Peta
no pressure David !!
August 11, 2010 at 3:56 pm
*Smiling*
Patience ladies.
I am not sure I can make this problem go away. Having Subscribed to your site Shirley I get emails for everything too. I think it is exacerbated at the moment because I am generating a lot of traffic – that will settle down as the site settles down, so bear with me. I am trying to introduce a box that makes it easier to subscribe, but not able to sort that out either.
So, for now I will concentrate on other things – I want to get some links on the site in a better way than now. I also want to create two more pages – one about my books and one a biography page.
You both take care
David

Hi David, thank you and call agian, i will put a link to your site in my blogroll
July 27, 2011 at 8:47 pm
Hi David, i just noticed in my comment’s that your name ” belfastdavid ” is not live, meaning that people on other site’s comment’s cannot click it and go to your site.
To fix it, copy your home page url then go to, dashboard / user’s / personal setting’s / account detail’s and paste your site’s home page url into where it say’s website and then save.
Then you will get more visitor’s.
July 27, 2011 at 10:21 pm
Thank you Harry,
I think I have fixed that now
July 27, 2011 at 10:49 pm
You did indeed, from now on your name is live, but the old comment’s are still as dead as a dodo 🙂
August 5, 2011 at 4:29 am
Hello David,
I have made it to this blog site and set up a blog. I am still trying to find my way around. I’ll probably pull off some of my stuff from Myspace and put on here. I had someone that was pushing me to start blogging and writing again so, here we go. I’ll see how it goes and if I still have some poems and such in me 🙂 I’m glad because if i’m on here i’ll be able to read your blog more. Lots of love and peace, Paula

This looks so nice! You really must help me set mine up sometime. I have no idea how to list links to friends blogs, etc. I pay for the full tour, and don’t know how to use it. *big ole sigh* No surprise, I suppose. 🙂
Much love,
Shirley
October 26, 2011 at 11:41 am

I have resisted so far paying for the full tour. Although I may, in the future, want to include audio versions of the poems in the blog. I would have to pay if I wanted to do that.
I think, if you look, you will find ‘Links’ very easy to do. 🙂
Much Love
David
October 26, 2011 at 9:20 pm
David, I just wanted to say ‘thank you’ for adding me to your blog roll – although people visit my site, not many people choose to do that and it means a lot, but if at anytime you feel uncomfortable with the link being there, please don’t worry about taking it off. I will understand. x

Hi, I just love your blog in every respect – from content to design. . . . and of course the fact that there is poetry.
You might wish to read the story of the awakening of a spent nation written entirely in verse at http://www.nirbhayasindia.com Would love to have your comments
August 28, 2013 at 5:12 pm
Oh, David. I was shocked to realize how long it’s been since we communicated. Have you been writing. I still have you marked for instant notification if you post anything — haven’t see any, and I am a little concerned. I hope you are healthy and well and happy. Much love from your friend, Judith
August 30, 2013 at 4:47 pm
Hi Judith,
Thank you for asking.
I am well enough – Every August I suffer from a bout of low mood and low energy. I have no idea why.
So what I do is replenish my bookshelves and withdraw a little until it passes. It always does so I don’t worry too much about myself!! 🙂
I hope you too are well
Much love my friend

Dear David, I went through a spell of that a couple of weeks back — not annual, or anything like that, but summer seems like it should be an up-time of the year. For years, my bad month was September, but I believe I finally slayed that dragon a few years ago.
I am actually doing very well — I don’t know what has come over me, but I decided to exercise regularly, and I am smiling without having to think of it! That is not a familiar feeling to me. Feels nice.
Take care, and I will keep an eye out for a new post from you. I am glad you are well — I am too. We are a couple of lucky people, aren’t we?
With much love,
Judith

Hello David, for personal reasons I am making my blog private. It is a little sad for me, but something I think I need to do in order to feel free with what I post. I’m writing to ask for an email connection for you so that I can invite you to be a “reader” for my blog. It requires an email address. If you respond to me here, or you could email me at annamark121@gmail.com. Thanks for considering. Anna

Hi, dear David. I am finally back to blogging. I had a great break, and I am refreshed and inspired. I hope 2014 is a fantastic year for you — for all of us! 😎
Your loving friend,

Hi David. I have copied your poem The Herring Gull on my blog (along with a link to your blog). I love the poem, and it fits nicely with my post (which is of a recent painting I completed of a juvenile herring gull). I hope you don’t mind. I’ll remove it if you do.
Feel free to have a nosey at my post, and let me know if you would rather I removed your poem.
Best regards,
Richard Gray
